World Autism Awareness Day and Light it Up Blue going on April 2nd

(Best Syndication News) – April 2nd is the 4th annual World Autism Awareness Day which was created by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007. The goal of World Autism Awareness Day is to help people understand and have compassion for those living with autism.

Last year, in 2010, the Autism Speaks organization started the Light It Up Blue campaign which had major buildings light their building blue on World Autism Awareness Day. Last year, they had the Empire State Building in New York City, and the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada turn the buildings’ lights blue. The organization is asking buildings to Light it up Blue on April 1st and 2nd. To learn about participating in the event you can visit lightitblue.org. People can also participate by wearing blue and lighting their homes blue.
